Java Font Chooser

I wondered why the Java Swing developers didn’t create a font chooser. After spending 12 hours creating a font chooser, I now understand why.

Overriding the Standard JTextPane Methods

I’m developing an editor similar to Notepad on Windows. I’m using a JTextPane for the editor area. A JTextPane comes with all sorts of built in methods and keyboard shortcuts, like Cut (Ctrl+X), Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+V), and Delete (Delete). This is great when you’re satisfied with the standard, built-in methods.

Currency (Money) Class

I wanted to get some experience with BigDecimal, so I wrote a Currency class. By encapsulating all of the methods in one class, the Currency class centralizes the handling of currency (money) in a Java application.
